Maggi Recipe Roulette Touch

This multitouch project I was working on is called “Recipe Roullete” and was produced for Maggi.
It is designed to get cooking recipes in a fun and playful way.
The multiouch is designed for Point of Sale attraction and allows the user to even print the recipe and take it along.

Seat Ibiza ST

For the new Seat Ibiza ST, I developed the campaign microsite.
You can browse through the site and learning everything about the car’s features presented in 3D typography.

Porsche Panamera

I was the lead developer for Porsche’s campaign introducing the new Panamera.
We lounged the campagne 1 year befor the car hit the market. The challenge was to find a way to keep the users interested for such a long period and bring them back to the campaign on a regular basis.
The result was a web magazine, that informs users about the car and it’s features and introduces every one to Porsche as a brand. The magazine allows the user to filter articles by category and time using 3D.
The campaign was roled out in over 20 countries.

In 2011 and 2012 Seat was the main sponsor of Germany’s biggest festival, Rock am Ring.
At Razorfish we produced a social media campagne that fits perfectly to the festival. The Seat Rockstar Bootcamp – a Facebook single and multiplayer browsergame. You have to prove in four tough games, that you are a real rockstar. You have to name rock songs played backwards, learn to tattoo and surf crowds and play on the soundmachine from hell.
The campagne was very succesfull, with over 10.000 players and an average playtime of 11 minutes.

American Express Credit Card Advisor

Together with American Express in Germany, we developed a multitouch application, that helps agents to improve the sales conversation. The application runs on the Microsoft SUR40 with Pixelsense. The design of the application is optimized for simultaneous usage of several people. The application takes advantage of the haptic tags feature of the SUR40. The agent can show all product benefits by simply putting a real credit card on the table. All product details of this special credit card are displayed around the physical object. By placing two different cards on the table, the products can be easily compared. Using physical objects to gather information improves the joy of usage remarkably and since the agent and the customer are using the same tool, transparency and customer lovability is improved.
American Express digitalized the whole selling and contract procedure and saves up to 5 days per contract, with this application. The agent is able to capture all necessary data with the application and the customer can make his signature right on the multitouch table. All data will be validated and transferred to American Express digitally. No more postal paper work is necessary.

At Razorfish, we build this multitouch application for Sparkasse, which runs on the Microsoft SUR40 with Pixelsense (formally known as Surface). This application allows you to browse through real estate using the Microsoft Bing Maps API.
The application is designed to be used at the point of sale by multiple people simultaneously.
The application was featured at the SUR40 lounge events in Munic and in Paris.
The above video (recorded by Microsoft in Paris) is featured as a SUR40 showcase.

NFC Gumball Machine

Together with my colleagues at Razorfish in Frankfurt we build an NFC enabled gummball vending machine.
Instead of gum, the machine vends digital goodies. It’s as easy as that:
You throw in real money (50 cent coins), you turn the handle and tap your smartphone next to the release chute.
The machine randomly pushes digital files to your phone. It can be anything from a video, a song or a game.
We used an Arduino board, hooked an NFC shield to it and connected the board to a tablet that we used as a display to play animations.
The construction gained some attention among bloggers and magazines (e.g. Weave magazine).
The machine also made it to the Samsung Flagship Store in Frankfurt and is featured at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona.
The Lovie Awards→ The NFC machine received an Lovie Awards in the categorie Experimental & Innovation.

Black Stars – Ghanian Football Fever

Together with my friend Daniel Siegl, I directed, edited and produced a documentary movie about the social aspect of football in Africa. In 2010, at the time of the world cup, we traveled to Ghana to shoot the movie.
The movie has been selected by the Global Wake-Up Filmfestival in Chicago. Watch the complete documentary→

Offical Selection LaurelSynopsis
June 2010. Duri
ng the first football worldcup in Africa three Germans travelled to Ghana to discover the secret of African football and what significance the game has for the local people.

Ghana is a football nation, just like Germany. It’s national team is even named after the symbol on the Ghanaian flag: The Black Stars, first summoned shortly after the nation declared it’s independence in 1957, are for many Ghanaians a representation of a strong, free Africa.

Here, football is much more than just a sport. The nation’s passion takes shape in the stories people tell on the sidelines, in the streets and at the cocoa plantations. An encounter with the rough Ghanaian day-to-day and it’s true heroes.

Technical Project Management

As a technical project manager I am responsible for the quality and timing of projects. I am trained as an agile project manager using Scrum. As a Scrum Master and a technical project manager for several web portals, I managed and advised the development team (front- and backend). In that role, I created technical concepts, testing plans, server infrastructure and technical architecture plans as well as staffing and timing proposals.
As a Scrum Master and a technical project manager I organize and lead client meetings and present the project progress along the Scrum sprint planning period. Together with the clients I create product backlogs and give technical advice.

Quality – And Process Optimization

I am always looking for ways, to speed up processes, to automate manual steps and to improve the quality of technical products. At Razorfish I established a Continuous Integration process, that is used throw-out all web-based applications. The process consists of:

  • Hudson CI server
  • Automated unit testing
  • Automated static code analyses
  • Automated reporting
  • Automated server deployment

To ensure the quality of the applications, I created a deployment & delivery checklist. The checklist helps the technical project manager and the lead developer, to make sure all relevant steps have been considered to assure code quality and testability.

Due to the growing number of websites and portals with responsive behavior, cross-browser and mobile testing plays a significant role at the development process. To ensure compatibility through multiple mobile devices and across different web browsers, I developed a compatibility-testing strategy for websites and web portals with responsive design and behavior.

User Interface Development

I am specialized on developing interactive user interfaces.
From 2006 – 2011 I was mainly developing automotive microsites and campaignes (Porsche, Audi, VW, Seat), using Flash and Actionscript 3.
Since 2011 I am focusing on interactive multitouch experiences, e.g for the Microsoft SUR40 with PixelSense. I am coding these applications with WPF in C# and the .NET framework.
